Continue reading “7/11/2023 Club Meeting (In Person) – Program: Video of interest to our dive community.”Longtime club member, friend to many, Hans “Kit” Hudson, has passed away. Kit leaves a legacy of other Hudson family members who have also been a part of the club for many years. Kit not only enjoyed diving with the club but served as it’s Treasurer and Newsletter Editor over the years. His daughter Kim has shared his obituary information for those who wish to honor him.
Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m on Saturday, July 1, 2023 at Blackburn & Ward Funeral Home. Memorial Services will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Saturday, July 1, 2023 at Blackburn & Ward Funeral Home. Military Honors will be at Rose Crest Cemetery following the Memorial Service. Many of our club members have fond memories of George Fleischmann as a diver, friend, and fierce advocate for the Bluegrass Dive Club. George was instrumental in the creation of the strong infrastructure, financial stability and recordkeeping that have allowed our club to thrive for 50 plus years.

There are still plenty of bungalows available at the time of this writing.

If you want to know more about Anthony’s Key Resort our program at the May 9th club meeting will be all about what Anthony’s Key Resort. AKR has updated their restaurant and lobby offerings since the last time I have visited, I think you will be pleasantly surprised.

The Bluegrass Dive Club has a dive trip and is returning to Anthony’s Key Resort on the island of Roatan, Honduras. The club last visited this resort and Roatan in September of 2015. There have been several club members and friends of the late Doug Geddes who made trips to Roatan since 2015 to visit Doug and Susan in their retirement home and enjoy their hospitality and let them share their diver’s paradise. The club plans to dive on the Doug Geddes memorial dive site, Doug’s Dream during this trip. New at AKR since 2015, AKR Ankor Seafood Grill on the waterfront.
Trip Registration is OPEN.
